Jim Brown serves as the Tennessee state director for the National Federation of Independent Business, representing 7,000 members across the state.
Jim joined NFIB in 2004 and was promoted to state director in 2007. He has worked on major reform efforts, including civil justice, unemployment, workers’ compensation, labor, regulatory and tax. He helped lead the effort to enshrine Tennessee’s right-to-work law in the state constitution in 2022.
Jim is co-chair of a comprehensive campaign for Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee, which offers free cancer support to individuals and families. He volunteers at the Winter Shelter Program at Room in the Inn.
