Melissa Williams is a seasoned Democratic strategist with experience in direct voter contact, communications, training and fundraising. After a decade of running the independent expenditure and affiliated c4 organizations of EMILYs List, she now serves as a senior advisor. She has been overseeing the research, persuasion, and mobilization programs and works with progressive allies nationally.

Prior to EMILYs List, Williams was the National Political Director for the Sierra Club where she directed the federal electoral program, running independent expenditures, membership communications and coordinated campaigns nationwide. She has worked on IE and membership programs for progressive organizations and labor unions. Williams holds degrees in government, women’s studies and international political economics.
